This rapidly growing sector provides individuals, corporations, and institutions with more tools and opportunities to expand the positive impact of their investment and philanthropic dollars while still seeking appropriate financial returns. These “impact investments” are financing diverse efforts – from education technology, sustainable agriculture and financial services to innovations in healthcare and affordable housing.

Biography

 

Eric Berkowitz - Eric Berkowitz is the Chief Investment Officer of Impact Investing with Bamboo Finance. He is responsible for portfolio management of the Oasis Fund and strategy for Bamboo Finance's clients. Eric has over fifteen years of international business and impact investing experience in twelve countries. Eric holds a BS from Princeton and an MBA from Wharton.

Francis Ngai – Founder & CEO, Social Ventures Hong Kong. Francis Ngai is the founder and CEO of Social Ventures Hong Kong the first non-profit venture philanthropy organization dedicated to support and nature social innovation in Hong Kong since 2007. Portfolio social enterprises include Diamond Cab, Green Monday, LightBe affordable housing, RunOurCity, CookConnect and Playtao Education etc.. 

Jacob Gray is the Senior Director for the Wharton Social Impact Initiative. Gray is the lead staff and member of the Investment Advisory Committee for the Wharton Social Venture Fund, a student-led impact investment organization. He is also a co-founder and General Partner of Murex Investments, an impact VC fund managing funds for financial institutions and high net-worth individuals. Jacob has more than 12 years of experience in impacting investing and has earned his B.A. from Brown University.
