Professor Harker is a distinguished economist, engineer, and academic leader who served as the 11th President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia (2015 – 2025).

Prior to public service,  Professor Harker was the President of the University Delaware (2007-2015), and our beloved Dean of the Wharton School (2001-2007) and also Chair of the Systems Engineering Department of Penn Engineering.

At the event, Professor Harker will speak on the topic “The Fed: What it is, What It Does, and What It Can’t Do”.  On the back of the recent appointment of a new Fed Chair, it is extremely timely to have Patrick to share his perspectives.

We are deeply appreciative for his time to spend with alumni during his brief visit to Hong Kong.  As this will be our first Speaker Event on a Sunday. As such, we will have a more casual tone welcoming family members aged 12 or above.  Limited seats.

The event is open to all alumni of the University of Pennsylvania.
