The Wharton Club of Hong Kong (WCHK) and the INSEAD Alumni Association of Hong Kong (IAAHK) are thrilled to present an intensive, three-part executive workshop series designed specifically for business leaders eager to master Blockchain and Digital Assets.

  • Workshop I (April 26th 2025): Blockchain Fundamentals for Business Leaders
  • Workshop II (May 17th 2025): Digital Assets and Decentralized Finance (DeFi)
  • Workshop III (June 28th 2025): Blockchain Ecosystems and Strategic Adoption

Held over three Saturdays, this workshop series delivers practical insights, strategic frameworks, and hands-on tutorials featuring use cases across finance, supply chains, healthcare, and beyond. The workshops will also feature case studies from industry leaders such as MicroStrategy and Blackrock, and recent developments related to nation state crypto adoption.                                                                 

Participants will gain firsthand knowledge from workshop instructors and external speakers hailing from Virtual Banks, Crypto Exchanges, and Enterprise Blockchain platforms. Each session blends foundational concepts with actionable skills—ranging from smart contracts and digital wallets to strategic integration of decentralized finance (DeFi) and digital asset management.

Price: HKD 4,500 per alumni (non-refundable) for complete course covering all Three modules, in-person classes, lunch and Happy Hours.

Guests: Guests of Alumni are welcome at the same price of HKD 4,500 (non-refundable) but preference will be given to alumni

Please Note: To ensure quality cohort learning experience, Registration is for the complete course and not for specific modules. The MOOCs are free of cost to take (audit) but in case one wants a certificate, the MOOCs have a charge. 

If you cannot attend any of the classes of the module, recordings will be available for the in-person classes missed.

  • Quality and Academic Rigour benchmarked at a level comparable to that of a Wharton / Insead class.
  • Taught by Wharton and Insead Alumni with emerging technologies and teaching experience at HKUST and HKU Business School at Undergrad and MBA levels. Please see Instructor profile at the end of this message.
  • Replicating a "mini B-School experience" with Wharton/Insead style diverse "study groups", with group lunch and social events planned to build camaraderie and foster close relationships among the cohort.
  • Three Full day instructor lead classes (lunch, and Happy Hours included), on three Saturdays spread over a period of three months. 
  • While no existing blockchain knowledge is required, the workshops are designed to be rigorous, requiring commitment to learn.
  • Time to socialize with cohort members via happy hours, lunch and meet-ups
  • Speaker are yet to be confirmed, but potential speakers may come from Binance, BIS and Animoca Brands amongst others.

Workshop #1: Blockchain Fundamentals for Business Leaders

  • Intro to Blockchain: Crypto headlines, global use & adoption, enterprise applications.
  • Blockchain & Crypto Business Models: Digital asset investing, enterprise blockchain platforms and tools, use cases and case studies (e.g., MicroStrategy, Blackrock).
  • Smart Contract Applications: Banking, supply chain, healthcare, real estate, etc.

Workshop #2: Digital Assets and Decentralized Finance (DeFi)

  • Digital Asset Landscape: Cryptocurrencies, stablecoins, CBDCs, tokenized assets.
  • Exchanges: Centralized, decentralized, OTC.
  • Digital Wallets & Custody: Hardware vs. software, institutional-grade custody, scaling.
  • Hands-on Guides: Crypto wallet setup and usage.
  • DeFi Ecosystem: Ethereum, key protocols (Aave, Compound), staking, lending, trading.

Workshop #3: Blockchain Ecosystems and Strategic Adoption

  • dApp Ecosystems: Ethereum, Solana, Layer 2 solutions, business opportunities.
  • DeFi in Business: Value proposition, platforms, staking, lending, trading.
  • Banking & Payments: Crypto services in financial institutions, stablecoin integration.
  • Strategic Crypto Adoption: DAOs in governance, corporate & national crypto reserves, predictions for 2030, AI + Blockchain

INSTRUCTOR PROFILE: 

Kevin Pereira W'06 is currently a Managing Director at Blu Artificial Intelligence, a consulting firm that specializes in Artificial Intelligence.

After growing up in Hong Kong, he started his career in Private Banking with Citi in New York. He then moved back to Hong Kong and joined Bank of New York Mellon’s Asset Management business, where he helped to start a new group that specialized in products tailored to High Net Worth Individuals. After obtaining his MBA, Kevin worked at a technology startup in Myanmar that was building internet infrastructure which included fiber optic, cell towers and data centers.

Kevin is also a Part-time lecturer at the University of Hong Kong (HKU), where he teaches an MBA course titled “Artificial Intelligence for Business Leaders”. At the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), he teaches “Big Data in Finance” and “AI in Marketing” to MBAs and other Masters’ students. He was also an alumni Tutor for numerous cohorts of Wharton Online’s “Economics of Blockchain and Digital Assets” course.
