Hon. Chief Justice will address Wharton alumni on “the Independence of the Judiciary” in Hong Kong

Dear Members:

We are delighted to have the Hon. Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma to be our next speaker of our popular Wharton Speaker Series on Thursday, 9 October 2014.  The topic for the evening would be “the Independence of the Judiciary” in Hong Kong.  This dinner event could not be more timely given the recent political news flow in Hong Kong.  There will also be a Q&A session for WCHK members to exchange dialogs with the Chief Justice.  We expect this to be a very popular event, so please RSVP to reserve your seats ASAP.

Dress code: Business (strictly no demin, no jeans, tracksuits, shorts, sneakers, flipflops)

About the Speaker

Chief Justice Geoffrey Ma Tao-li was appointed Chief Justice of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal on 1 September 2010.  Chief Justice Ma joined the Hong Kong Judiciary as Judge of the Court of First Instance of the High Court in 2001.
