Workshop #1: Using AI for Vibe Coding

This Workshop is the First of a Series of Three Workshops organised by The Wharton Club of Hong Kong and Insead Alumni Association of Hong Kong, in collaboration with HKGCC covering Vibe Coding, Agentic AI and Financial Analysis & Modeling using AI.

Our First of the Three Full Day AI Workshop Series Focuses on Vibe Coding, a fundamental skill required for any serious AI deployment.

Vibe Coding has been a Revolutionary and Disruptive AI enabled innovation, where NON-PROGRAMMERS can now build their own websites, Develop Apps, write sophisticated Computer Programs, without knowing how to Code.

NO PROGRAMMING KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED TO ATTEND THIS WORKSHOP.

Though having some programming knowledge will help the participants to better appreciate the ease of generating code using Vibe Coding.

Full Day Workshop Agenda (Sat 24 Oct 2026)

Welcome & Registration (9:15 AM to 9:30 AM)

Session 1: Intro to Vibe coding (9:30 AM to 11:00 AM)

• What is vibe coding?
• Vibe coding platforms: Replit, Loveable, POE Canvas, and more
  • User interface and feature overview
  • Picking the right AI model at different stages of vibe coding
    • Frontier – Claude Fable, Opus, GPT Sol, Kimi-K3, Qwen 3.8…
    • Near-frontier – Claude Sonnet, GPT Terra/Luna, DeepSeek Flash…
• What are good apps/tools to vibe code?
• Demo: Vibe coding and publishing a simple 1990’s video game

Coffee Break (11:00 AM to 11:15 AM)

Session 2: AI & Design Thinking (11:15 AM to 12:30 PM)

• What is human-centric design?
• Hands-on design thinking exercises
• AI for visual prototyping
• Exercise: Product design with AI (screenshots, visual elements, user flow)
• Exercise: Vibe code a landing page / website for your product 

Lunch (12:30 PM to 2:00 PM) 

Session 3: Live Build & Deploy your App (2:00 PM to 3:15 PM)

• App design fundamentals
• Brainstorming apps that you can build
• Prompting the AI Agent: Describe what you want effectively
• Exercise: Building a simple app prototype
• Vibe Debugging: Quick fixes using AI
• Exercise: Deploying and sharing your live app

Coffee Break (3:15 PM to 3:30 PM)

Session 4: The future of app development? (3:30 PM to 4:00 PM)

• Show and tell: Your app
• Security and compliance considerations
• Vibe coding vs hiring developers: when to use which
• One thing you can do this weekend: Add 1-2 features to the app you built today

Session 5: Alumni Guest Speaker – Rebecca Yip, W'14 (4:00 PM to 5:00 PM)

Note on Pricing: The Workshop series is being provided to Alumni at a Steep-Discount to Market, thanks to our alumni instructor and event venue partner. Market price of comparable corporate workshops on AI range between HKD 8k to HKD 15k per person per day.

Guidance to Register Early: Like our previous Workshops, there may be pre-Workshop MOOCs, readings / assignments, study groups etc which will be shared well in advance with those registered. So Registering Early is highly recommended for the prep-work. In Addition, Seats are Limited to 60 pax and we expect a large cohort of returning alumni of past workshops (over 100+ alumni), to register again. So Register ASAP, as we expect the Workshops to be highly over-subscribed.
